A sink hole appeared in Westcliffe Gardens Westbrook yesterday. A small hole of about 2 feet opened in the tarmac revealing a much larger void underneath. It is likely that if a car had gone over it that its wheel would have disappeared into the hole.
The presence was reported to KCC Highways who immediately despatched a quick response team to box off the area. It will be interesting to know the extent of the hole and what has caused it. Speculating it could be a collapsed drain or maybe an old tunnel. We will have to wait and see. KCC must be congratulated for their prompt action prevent danger to traffic.
